This Tuesday night (December 21) the Portuguese Government decided to extend the precautionary period from December 25 to January 10 due to the increasing number of Omicron COVID-19 cases despite the relatively low number of hospitalizations and deaths. For example: International travel remains allowed (except from a few southern African countries); Pretty much everything but Bars and Discos remain open; Remote work is advised for those professions that can be done remotely; A negative Covid test is required to access indoors restaurants (but not cafes).
